Beijing Capital International Airport, located in Shunyi District, Beijing, China, is the busiest international airport in China, the gateway to China and an important window for foreign exchanges.

On 1 January 1980, the T1 terminal and its apron and car park were completed and put into use, while on 1 November 1999, the T2 terminal was put into use and the T1 terminal was taken out of service for renovation. In spring 2008, the airport expansion project (T3) was completed.

Beijing Capital International Airport has three terminals with a total area of 1.41 million square metres, two 4E class runways and one 4F class runway with length and width of 3800 x 60m, 3200 x 50m and 3800m x 60m respectively, and a total of 314 aircraft slots, with a total of 252 domestic and international routes. In 2016, Beijing Capital International Airport handled 94,393,500 passengers, up 5% year-on-year; 1,943,200 tonnes of cargo and mail, up 2.8% year-on-year; and 606,000 take-offs and landings, up 2.7% year-on-year; ranking 1st, 2nd and 1st in China respectively. 

Since January 2000, Beijing Aviation Security has undertaken projects such as the renovation of the lighting on the apron of the Capital Airport, electricity for aircraft services, operational support facilities, the renovation of the terminal building, the west parking building and the video surveillance system in the flight area.
