Changsha Huanghua International Airport is located in Huanghua Town, Changsha County, Changsha City, Hunan Province, China, about 20 km from Changsha city and is one of the top 100 airports in the world (ranked 98th).
In 2009, the first runway was extended from 2,600m to 3,200m and the flight area was upgraded from 4D to 4E.
In addition, the construction of another runway at the airport officially started on December 8, 2013. 380m east of the existing runway, the 3,800m long and 60m wide runway includes 2 parallel taxiways of equal length, with flight class 4F, construction of facilities for navigation lighting, navigation, fire-fighting, safety protection and air traffic control engineering, etc. It will be completed in 2016. The runway is planned to be the highest class F among domestic runways at present, and can take off and land the largest existing aircraft type, Airbus A380. The two runways will operate jointly to meet the annual throughput capacity of 31 million passengers.
In November 2015, Beijing Jing Hangan Airport Engineering Co., Ltd. undertook the power supply and navigation lighting project for the flight area east expansion project of Changsha Huanghua International Airport, which passed the completion inspection and acceptance in September 2016 and was delivered on schedule, and was highly affirmed and praised by the owner.
