Ndola International Airport is located in Ndola, the third largest city in the Republic of Zambia and the capital of the Copperbelt Province, in the north-central part of Africa.
The construction of the Ndola International Airport project is of great significance to the people of Zambia, as it will effectively shorten the travel time between the Copperbelt Province and other regions as well as between Zambia and its neighbouring countries, help develop the Copperbelt Province and Zambia into a regional transportation hub, and help promote Zambia's economic development, while providing a large number of jobs for the local people and improving their livelihood. Once completed, the airport will provide Zambia with a modern 12,000 square metre terminal building, a 3,500 metre runway and other ancillary facilities including aprons, roadside space and airside lanes, as well as a 39 metre high air traffic control tower, and will receive at least one million visitors per year.
Beijing Jing Hangan Airport Engineering Co Ltd is undertaking the airport's navigational lighting works, air traffic control works, power supply works and weak electrical works for a period of 23 months, from 1 February 2018 to 31 December 2019.
